It seems as the parade entered the Grassy Knoll at Deeley Plaza, a security member can clearly be seen to be confused and not understand why he has to leave his post at the rear right of Kennedy‘s car. He flings his arms out wide and gets no feedback that satisfies him in his actions - presumably his orders.
When Kennedy was shot there was no agent in position to provide at least minimal security.

There's a new book on the assassination due out soon from The Harvard University Press. The title is THE ROAD TO DALLAS and the author is David Kaiser who has a Phd from Harvard. He says he can build on the case for conspiracy using the official government files. Interesting! Hope you will check it out.
